The title speaks for itself. Songwriting is a regular part of my private singing lessons, with the more advanced students. In this 1.5 hour workshop I coach on writing your own songs. You can also present your new material to a group of 3 to 5 students. The feedback and recitation (including rhythm and intonation) often provides a lot of inspiration and insights. For example, if you’re ‘stuck’ in your writing process, this can be a great workshop to break through this. But also for inspiration to investigate how to even start writing.
My research for my master’s degree was focused on this topic. So I now pass on this deepening during my studies through this workshop. In addition, I also had writing lessons in a group during this master’s program. These lessons also inspired me to design this workshop. By discussing song lyrics and poetry and receiving specific writing assignments, you can improve your writing skills in a playful way.

It may be interesting to know that I also give private piano lessons, solfège and music theory. These lessons can also be a great addition to writing your own songs. With piano lessons, in addition to basic music theory, I mainly focus on learning how to play the chords. So you learn to accompany yourself on the piano if, for example, you want to perform your own song.
Lessons mainly focused on solfège and music theory also helps you to develop composing your own melody and chord progressions.
